The Story Behind FaerilyFit

Finding My Way into Fitness and Self‑Care

Hi, my name is Lanta.

and, I never liked exercise much,

My relationship with fitness hasn’t always been simple.
I didn’t grow up feeling naturally athletic—I was always drawn more to creative things like art, writing, and reading. Team sports felt stressful, and I often worried about letting others down rather than enjoying the experience.

Then I found my movement

When I was around 13, I was introduced to a teen fitness program at the YMCA, and for the first time, I found something that felt different.
I loved learning about the equipment, the exercises and how strength training felt—something finally clicked.

But body image, was everything

Like many people growing up in the late 90s and early 2000s, I also struggled with body image. I saw how much pressure there was to look a certain way, and how many people around me were struggling with the same thing. (and still are)

I got in too deep

As I got older, fitness came in and out of my life.
Until I became a mom, I really started to focus on health— I wanted to do what was best for both myself and my daughter.

Then, while studying esthetics, I found myself in a very different kind of environment. I was able to go to the gym frequently and wanted to “do everything right,” which caused me to fall into restrictive habits and diet culture that ultimately made things harder, not better.

With support from my husband, I was able to step back and recognize that those patterns weren’t healthy—for me or for my family.

It opened my eyes,

and that experience changed everything.

I began to see how many people around me felt the same way:

  • wanting to feel better in their bodies
  • but feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or disconnected from fitness

I started helping a few friends with what I had learned, and I realized how much I loved supporting people in a way that felt realistic, flexible, and kind.

We needed a safe space,

That’s what led me to continue my education in fitness and health promotion.

FaerilyFit was created from that journey.

I wanted to build a space where people can:

  • feel comfortable being themselves
  • explore movement without pressure
  • and work toward their goals in a way that actually fits their lives

Not because they have to
but because they feel supported enough to begin.
